The Associates basketball programs concentrate on developing basketball skills and sportsmanship for Nikkei and Asian boys starting at 2nd grade through high school. Instructional level starts with 2nd and 3rd graders, where they learn fundamentals. They do not participate in a league, but play in a few “friendship” jamborees. League roster teams are formed for 4th grade through high school. The Associates participates in two leagues: the Nikkei Youth Basketball Association (NYBA) and the Asian Community Basketball Association (ACBA). In addition, the Associates hosts open tournament teams for the 7th through 12th grades, that compete in tournaments outside of the league and high school season.

The Associates offers a baseball program for youth ages 7 through 13. The teams play in the league sponsored by the Golden Gate Optimist Club. Practices start in February/March, and the league runs from April through mid-June.

Through our programs, the boys and their families form a community of friendships within the Associates, as well as the overall Asian youth sports community.
